Why You're Not Thinking Big Enough (And How to Fix It)

People don't think big enough. That's one of the primary reasons they get stuck in cycles of mediocrity.

People don’t think big enough. That’s one of the primary reasons they get stuck in cycles of mediocrity. They continuously underestimate themselves when they should be overestimating and expanding their potential.

Here is an easy example: How much money are you worth per hour? Honestly. What do you think most people say in response? What number is too big for you? $20 an hr? $30? $50? $150? $250? What? Overestimate.

Make Good Use of Haters & Doubters

Throughout your life you will likely have people tell you on a regular basis that you can’t do this, or you won’t be able to accomplish that. See to it that 100% of them are wrong. Don’t be one of the many that underestimate their resourcefulness when put to the task.

  • Take 2 hours to study basic neurology online to get an idea of what you have in your head. The chances you are working at your full potential right now are about zero.

  • Realize that you are connected to every single human being on planet earth by small degrees of separation. The idea is to find out how to attract the right people to your ventures.

Use the people that doubt your resourcefulness as inspiration. Life is more fun with a bit of a challenge added to it. With each person you prove wrong, you empower yourself. With each step you take, you become stronger, braver and even more resourceful.

Every person who doubts you is either right, or free motivation. There's no version where they cost you anything.

What Are You Willing to Do?

Once you set higher goals that are beyond your personal capabilities to accomplish alone, then it’s about getting the right kind of quality help. Following are some of steps you can take to get these people where you need them to be in your life.

  • Trade skills

  • Do favors

  • Offer profit shares

  • Add value to their lives

  • Find people who believe as you do, sell the vision

  • Prove to people you’re willing to work harder than anyone else on the project

Don’t be discouraged by telling people you can’t do something alone. We’re only human and everyone understands that.

Successful people are aware that to accomplish big things we have to enroll people and build teams. That’s what it all comes down to.

If you are good at attracting diversified people with various skill sets to get things done there is little that you can’t succeed at.

Nobody accomplishes anything meaningful alone. The men who scale fastest are the ones who get comfortable asking.

Where Are You Underestimating Yourself?

  • Do you tend to overestimate yourself or underestimate? How, and how often? Is it a bad habit of yours? Do you surround yourself with people that empower you? Or do you place yourself in the midst of folks who doubt you and bring you down?

  • Take the time to realize you’re capable of far more than you may be inclined to think. Realize that the key to being able to get huge projects completed and make big money is good recruitment skills.

  • How can you begin getting better at recruiting and attracting the right people? How can you increase your resourcefulness? Start overestimating yourself and thinking big or get used to living in a never ending cycle of mediocrity. Think big. Be resourceful. Learn to leverage yourself and your skills to enroll the people you need.
